Senator Eric Brakey Receives NRA Endorsement

AUBURN, ME – Senator Eric Brakey has received the coveted endorsement of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and scored an A plus rating from the gun rights group, making Brakey the highest rated candidate running in Maine.

Brakey’s opponent, Angus King, was graded a D.

An A plus NRA rating indicates that a candidate has a proven record of not only supporting but actively championing pro-gun legislation. Sen. Brakey was the bill sponsor and key driver behind the passage of Constitutional Carry in Maine.

The NRA endorsement adds to a growing list of prominent Second Amendment Groups praising or endorsing Sen. Brakey. Brakey has been endorsed by the National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR) and received A plus ratings from The Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine (SAM) Institute for Legislative Action and Gun Owners of Maine.

Brakey has been campaigning with Gun Owners and activists across the State.

Said Senator Brakey, “I am honored to have the NRA’s endorsement, and I’ll never let gun owners down. The Second Amendment needs a new champion in Congress, and I will always fight to protect the Constitutional Rights of all Maine people.”
